We are an independent two-site practice with an excellent varied caseload where no two days are the same! You will be working with a fantastic team of Vets, RVN’s, SVN’s and Receptionist’s who are passionate and dedicated to providing the highest standard of care. We have a caring, sympathetic and professional approach working closely with our patients and clients, this is reflected in all that we do.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate SA Veterinary Surgeon to join us here at Ark Vets. We truly care about our team members and the people and patients we look after; we want to ensure access to high quality veterinary care by being affordable and convenient for our clients whilst not compromising on veterinary standards. We have excellent equipment including; digital x-ray, ultrasound, in house laboratory, therapeutic laser and more.

This role will be a permanent position: Full-time, 4-day work week with 1 in 5 weekend mornings (Saturday and Sunday 09.00-13.00) and no out-of-hours or on-call.

 

Responsibilities of the job include:

  • Delivering a high level of clinical and patient care in line with the RCVS Practice Standards
  • Proficient in both medicine and surgery
  • Examining and observing animals to diagnose health problems and assess their health
  • Dressing and treating wounds, performing surgery and prescribing medication
  • Testing for diseases and administering vaccinations
  • Performing ultrasound and diagnostic imaging tests
  • Advising animal owners on preventive healthcare, general care and nutrition
  • Maintaining medical records of animals

 

Requirements:

  • Qualified Veterinary Surgeon
  • Working knowledge of medical diagnostic equipment and anaesthesia procedures
  • Keen interest in all areas of small animal first opinion work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent team player
